TMNT 2014 Movie Review

Last night I saw the new TMNT movie and loved it! You can definitely tell it was made for the new generation, but captures the spirit of the four brothers great! The movie perfectly depicted the original story.
Megan Fox was a great fit for “April O’Neil.” She did an excellent job portraying the passionate, young journalist. All four turtles- Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael are all right on point with their different personalities! Splinter, the turtles master and sensei, was also accurately portrayed with a fathers love and wisdom beyond the average.
The movie added fun, urban language that had me laughing over and over! The hip-hop references were awesome and there was even a “Wu-tang” reference that made perfect sense to me! Four mutant turtles with “sword, tiger styles,” and ninja skills makes them descendants of The Wu-Tang if you ask me! I wouldn’t have made the connection when I was little but now, I’m convinced!
I was very impressed with the graphics in the movie. A lot of times I feel like graphics can be too dramatized and too unrealistic but Nickelodeon and director Michael Bay did an amazing job! The fight scenes were action packed and kept me in suspense each time.
Overall, I thought it was a great version of the TMNT and I’m very much looking forward to the sequel. I give this movie FOUR STARS! ****
