The One Year Anniversary Rap-A-Thon Recap

By  |

The Rap-A-Thon is one of my favorite events to put  together with Roux Black. We had a blast! The cipher style Rap-A-Thon had over 50 emcees on the mic through out the night (September 26).  Dealz Makes Beatz and The Elemantal Project provided the beats and the show kicked off at 9pm on the dot! MC Big House kicked off the cipher and then AP stepped in when he arrived. The rhymes were dope and went all night. A lot of the beats were originals but of course those classic hip-hop beats brought that old school feel!

The Savoy is such a beautiful space for this event. The ballroom with mirrors, artwork and polished wood floors adds so much character to the hip-hop event. The lounge had the bar open and the drinks flowing! We had local urban wear boutique, City Limitz, in the building with lots of fresh gear for sale as well as Welcome To The D.O.P.E. Game with their exclusive shirts and accessories.

The sponsors were set up doing all kinds of cool things! Mad Genius Radio was in the building doing giveaways and signing people up for the app! They also gave emcees an opportunity to have their music played on Mad Genius Radio- that was dope!

The Rino Supply Company  was also set up with giveaways, coupons and more! They did a raffle with a prize of glass bong pieces and accessories. One of the emcees own and was SO thrilled with his new stuff! Rino Supply is located in the neighborhood of The Savoy (Curtis Park) on 31st & Blake, be sure to check them out for all your cannabis needs and accessories!

Ink Monstr was set up with an array of dope stickers for free! Redman and Method Man stickers, local artist stickers, Ink Monstr stickers and more! The crowd loved all the slaps and a lot grabbed business cards so they can get their own stickers printed up! Ink Monstr also provided the event with the official Rap-A-Thon banners!

We even had a nice little surprise for ourselves! The legendary Super Nat showed up and blessed the mic! Now, Super Nat is easily one of my favorite emcees due to his amazing skill of free styling. He did what he does and blew everyone away! Picking out items and different things in the crowd to add into his  freestyle, he really put on a show! Hip-Hop at its finest!

Thanks again to our sponsors- Mad Genius Radio, Rino Supply Company, Mile Hi Music, Ink Monstr and Welcome To The D.O.P.E. Game! Checkout  all the recap photos below!
